Two for the Road

My blogging has become a rare site these days.  As of late I have been able to find time to post a few things, and catch up.  I have reached a point in my life where time has become a scarce resource.

This may be the last post of have for a few days, or a few weeks, who knows?

Mr Pat sent this gem along after he found it in the Times Standard a few days back.  Is it just me, or does that picture of the late Representative to the US Congress Charlie Wilson look a little like Frank Sinatra?  Wilson’s passing made news, and the caption below his picture may have been a typo, or one last reminder of the life this guy lead.  Anybody who has seen the movie Charlie Wilson’s War gets a very general idea of the work he did in helping the Afghans defeat the Soviets in the 1980’s.  You also get a sense of the ladies man he was.  I would recommend that you read the book by the same name.  The stories are better, and the content of the book could not possibly fit into a Hollywood film.  For a guy who traveled around the world with beautiful women, discussed business in hot tubs surrounded by exotic dancers, and was a bachelor for most (if not all) of his life he did pretty well.  I salute him.

From the WTF? Files

I saw this gem while walking down by the Eureka waterfront.  Now, is this a slogan to encourage older adults to mentor, and influence young women?

Bad choice of words if that is what it is.

A group of angry men are rebelling against the Great American Cougar Movement (my friend Hubb will do a guest post on the Cougar Movement at my request)…
